CCBILL scrubbing or just how sales are?

My stats with one sponsor today (1 sale) :

The same sponsor 3 days ago (15 sales) :

Thats a difference in almost 900%

My traffic sources are the same...

I don't know? .. I don't see these major curves with any other system thats all I know...

Everytime I've tried to make a test signup myself it have worked fine....

i dont think ccbill is at blame for any refunds. if a customer doesnt like the site and wants a refund they have to give it to them, if not they would have too many chargebacks.

True, not really blaming them either... But it's been months since we've had a refund, and now two on the same day. It's only 30 bucks, but I hate seeing those damn red numbers

My recommendation, as it always has been, is that if you suspect that something is not working correctly; test it with a test signup?

i apologize, please allow me to clarify, I was referring to a 'live' test signup, should have made that more clear?

Rather than an internal troubleshooting test signup, which seems to be what you are referring to, and those do not show up in the stats, I meant a live test signup, where you pull out your own credit card and imitate the complete customer experience...

I suggest that you try that

doober, i am simply suggesting that if you think that something is wrong, troubleshoot the entire process..

Perhaps you don?t see where I am coming from. For instance, in the past 2 weeks, troubleshooting was able to discover that an incredible, immediate and consistent traffic decrease was due to a SE traffic source being unknowingly replaced with TGP traffic.

In another case a few days ago, we were able to discover that the reason an affiliates ratios were so poor. It was due to them not sending traffic to the paysite, but directly to the affiliates site that he had been referred by?

Those were 2 recent examples off of the top of my head

With all due respect, please do not expect a reply from me, as I am leaving to the airport in a minute.

Have a good weekend

Hey Corvett-

The CCBill admin still allows sponsors to temporarily "deactivate" an affiliate in such a way that during the "deactivation" the affiliate does not get credited for any signups, right?

That would explain long periods without any signups.

I remember there was a thread in January where you said you were going to look into removing this feature since it can be used to defraud webmasters.

What ever happened with that?

We never heard back from you.

P.S.- I have also noticed very strange signup patterns this week - MUCH worse than usual. Has CCBill made it even easier to shave signups than before?

Check your "form hits", something is definatly up with that. I got this bad feeling that alot of surfers/countries cant access CC forms.

what good will that do? its called scrubbing and denials.........and if some webmaster with GOOD CREDIT gets refused on their card and posts it, you never answer them anyways.........you guys are simply trying to meet a standard level of CB's to avoid fines so you turn up the scrub..........we're not stupid

They can also change the signup page code anytime they want, or use a cron job to do it automatically/at random, but since affiliates can set up a spider to check the signup pages at say every hour or so for changes, the ccbill suspension settings is a way more elegant solution

I usually see quite a few signups right after I do a test... i think it wakes it up or something... i hate it when i go 6 hours with no signups and then I test and get 2 within 3 minutes of the test...

makes me wish i was sitting at the computer doing tests instead of sleeping or doing errands

I live in Austalia and can't use CCbill to join a site as my card is rejected, but any other processor is fine.

For my site and program I used to use CCbill but changed to Verotel and my sales skyrocketed, with no chargeback issues. They scrub waaaaaaaaaay too hard..

No tinfoil hat here.

There were several threads in Jan/Dec that included screenshots and links to the CCBill Admin documentation.

CCBill has features that allow paysite owners to easily shave signups.

No. That's what makes it so sinister.

They could turn you off one day, and then turn you on the next and you would never know.

Which would explain the "gaps" in signups.

Hopefully Corvett will address some of these issues on Monday...

It's good to see "me too" replies for once... looks like several people are having a bad run.

Until a couple of hours ago I hadn't made a single initial (affiliate) sale for 4 days. That's the worst ever since I started sending traffic to ccbill sponsors in early 2003.

ColetteX: I did a test signup a few hours ago and coincidentally I now have a second 'real' sale showing as well. Hmmmmm?

I got tired of playing this game, so we just don't promote anything that uses CCBill as their only processor. It's the only way you can ensure you don't have to partake in threads like this.

Rather than an internal troubleshooting test signup, which seems to be what you are referring to, and those do not show up in the stats, I meant a live test signup, where you pull out your own credit card and imitate the complete customer experience...

I suggest that you try that

its what i did and as usual i get " Card declined at Pre-Auth. Please validate that the entered information is accurate."

i have over 10 000$ on the VISA GOLD i'm using , its from french bank , i can't buy anything from CCBill.

same thing happens with my second VISA INTERNATIONAL with a very positive credit amount. also issued by a french bank .

my guess is that you can signup with CCBill only with an american CC

Yeah, that may be the only solution.
