what to look out for....
I've recently discovered this ring...
They work a few different ways...
1. They impersonate a website owner
a large and professional looking TGP or Moviepost
and contact a sponsor and request a pre-paid deal
*I found out about them because they went to a sponsor claiming to be the owners of my site once*
2. They claim to be some sort of TRAFFIC BUSINESS, and generate leads and traffic and are looking for a home for their traffic
*Thats what this particular conversation was about, it gets VERY FUNNY*

I knew I was dealing with a scammer...
So I played and baited this individual the best of my ability to get as much information as possible
Notice his initial hesitation in giving me a URL...
I ask him if he has a website..
he responds "Yes"
instead of saying Yes www.whatever.com
The yes answer simply bought him sometime to pull a URL out of his ASS
Notice how the URL he gives me is actually a sponsor..
Not even a "Traffic or SEO Website"
He says "It's Ross remember me"
as to build an initial state of trust
Notice how he doesn't want to give me his phone number...
He would much rather call me..
The reason being he plans on using his cellphone and can easily use a call block when he calls me...
I tell him that my office is in Panama, and that I have free international long distance and that I will do him a favor and call him
MAJOR HESITATION
*5 minutes later while I was typing all this up*
I get a message from the same guy or a member of his team, checking to see if they really indeed have a SCAM near successful completion.

There are people who prey on "THIS INDUSTRY"
Some people (Even affiliate program owners) have gotten FUCKED
behind these type of scam operations...

One good rule of thumb is that if somebody represents themselves as working for or owning a website..
Do a domain whois and call the number listed and try to get in contact with the individual...
