    Drove my first Ferrari 360 Modena today

    A friend of mine just bought a new Ferrari 360 spider with the F1 gear box. I drove it for around 40 min this evening. I really loved the car in terms of looks and handling. And I especially love the ultra smooth high revving V8. Didn't like the exhaust sound though - sounded more like a Honda CBR 900

    But damn this car is so much fun, especially converted. The thing corners and handles soooo well. I was doing some crazy moves at very psycho speeds. Quite impressive, of course on a straight line my Supra TT is slightly faster. But given the chance I'd dump my car in a heart beat to go for the Modena.

    Saving up for one and hopefully I can get my friend to sell me his car by mid next year when he's leaving the country. Getting a good discount and all

    Can't wait.

                          From what I've heard, the 360 has far inferior handling to the 355. A friend of mine, an ex-355 owner, test drove the 360 when it first came out and went on about how disappointed he was.

                          F1 tranny? People actually buy that

                                  Do what I do, let your friends buy them first, if he bought that car, in a few months, he is going to want to upgrade and will end up selling you his left overs for half price. I do that with my friends, then my left overs goes to my little brother, then he sells them and makes bank. Go Figure.

                                                              You guys should also hear an SL55 AMG that shit is so sweet. The same guy who owns the Ferrari has an SL55 AMG, now that car sounds like a bat out of hell.

                                                              As far as the ferrari, I would like it to sound a bit more deep and angry. Somehow to me this car sounded more like a fast revving F1 car than a true super car tone. I usually love V8's and never had any complains, but if I do by this Modena first thing I do is change the exhaust profile. Apparently Ferrari makes a 2nd aftermarket exhaust option that sounds a lot more kick ass for the modena.
