Haha...I was wondering where they were firing too. Maybe down the Potomac or something. The crack houses are only like 2 blocks behind the Capitol...they're pointing the wrong direction for those. :winkwink:

Did they even make a big deal over Nixon's funeral? I remember seeing the funeral, but not much else.

1. The media is much different now days when it was then..

2. This is Reagan not Nixon.. Nixon's was all in California wanst it? I know he's burried there.. Regan wasnt Impeached and/or left his position in the manner Nixon was.. Nixon was a shame..

Reagan dispite what political differences people had with him was huge..

boneprone 06-09-2004 04:22 PM

I hope we see much much much more of Nancy Reagan..

Hopefully she is as tough as her husband and takes it to em in lobbying for Stem cell Research..

She's already raised some eyebrows, lets see what she does after all this passes..

Could be good..

More power to her.

Yep, Nixon resigned, and after the watergate scandal, he didn't get it, I feel Reagan deserves it tho.

Exactly.. Agree or disagree with his political policies, he deserves this.. He was a HUGE influence on America.. In many ways he gave hope back to the American people.

The early 80's were a unique time.. A sensitive time in America..

ya.. lets conveiniently forget about the Iran/contra affair, noriega, and the fact that he funded Osama and built all the terrorist training camps in Afghanistan which we then had to go in and blow down, gave them millions of dollars worth of stinger missles etc... as long as he made people feel good!
I know people don't like to speak ill of the dead.. but theres been so much hagiography it's a little scary... sure he wasn't a bad president, but you'd think he was the second coming listening to all the waffle.

KRL 06-09-2004 05:03 PM

How many times are they going to play all this feel good patriotic music.

This is reeking of politics now. Taking the heat off the Iraw prison scandal. Now they're using this death for political purposes.

Unbelievable.

Nixon himself...decided against a full Presidential ceremony...but was buried with full military honor...and every living President attended the services...including President Reagan.

Now i guess they have the boots of the General in the stirrup backwards to symbolize the same thing.

no

the boot being placed backwards means

"the warrior no longer rides"

and fuck reagan, he was nothing but an actor that wasnt qualified to be president.

when he left office, he left 3 trillion dollars in debt also.

obviously, but you can bet when clinton goes the media will mention monica and not gloss over his shortcomings... and clinton ranks higher in the popularity stakes than reagan... although we'll see how that holds after a decade or two out of office.

Nancy is a true lady , It must be horrible to lose someone you have been with for that long, but the family was prepared for it and its probably a relief to the family they don't have to see Ron suffer anymore.

RIP Ronald Reagan

pimplink 06-09-2004 06:23 PM

Let's give them some peace while they're mourning, why don't we?

Mr. Marks 06-09-2004 06:49 PM
