Just received a nice e-mail. "Dear U.S. Bank valued customer.."

Just received the following spoof..

After Ebay and Paypal.. They are targetting online banking..

Due to concerns for the safety and integrity of the online banking community we have issued this warning message.

It has come to our attention that your account information needs to be updated due to inactive customers, fraud and spoof reports.
If you could please take 5-10 minutes out of your online experience and renew your records you will not run into any future problems with the online service.
However, failure to update your records may result in your account suspension. This notification expires on June 12, 2004

Once you have updated your account records your internet banking service will not be interrupted and will continue as normal.

got the same thing... cept I'm on text only in oe.. so the link actually goes to US Bank's site.... 404, but their site anyway.

the URL they're trying to hide is 211.48.20.80/us/verify.html

and anyone that would fill out THAT form HAS to be fucking dumb.

the actual link in the mail when clicked doesn't work...

filled out some fake info... submit doesn't even work...

people must fall for those like crazy. i got one apparently from [email protected] with the paypal logo, typical black verdana font on a white background, hyperlink starting with https://www.paypa.... but on mouse over revealed the real link.
