    How accurate is AWstats ?

    Just curious, seem some numbers in my awstats which look to good to be true.

    Is this the best program in your opinion or are there better stats programs available?

      Since it uses your server logs, it's pretty accurate. If you take the time to set up your Apache log format like AWStats likes you'll get a ton of awesome information. My only bitch with awstats is you can't see referers by day so a regular counter can come in handy too.

          I think awstats show true unique vistors ... because on webalizer my uniques are 140% (14 ) compared to awstats

              Awstats is 12% more accurate than webtrends based on a test i did using the same exact logfile.. awstats is free, webtrends is thousands.

                          I feel that awstats is the best stats program out there. People don't even think about using Webalizer. Webalizer sucks reindeer nuts.

                          The only thing better than AWstats in my opinion is Urchin, but that's not free.

                                      Wasn't sure it was saying on average 10 pages per visitor and 50% more traffic in 2 days so that made me wonder if maybe awstats was a bit fooked lol

                                          i'm happy with it
                                          But its a windows server

                                              It's more accurate than most of the others (commercial ones) I've tested. I just wish it also has a click paths tracking, then it would be awesome...
