Gaim. Yeah, the name is sorta `gay', but in my expert professional super l33t opinion, it is simply the best. There is also an encryption plugin (Trillian has a weak encryption plugin that can be decrypted instantly). I've switched a lot of people from ICQ/Aim/MSN to Gaim and everyone has liked it better so far, but the only complaint seems to be that you can't send files, which is why some people still need to run the default ICQ/Aim/MSN client. Here's what I say to that: LEARN HOWTO INSTALL A DAMN FTP/HTTP SERVER YOU IGNORAMUS! Instant messenging is not for file transfers! :ak47:

I use ICQ/MSN, In The Netherlands everybody uses MSN. I think it works better then ICQ.

ICQ is the best. My #1 choice.
I also have MSN cuz a few of my friends only use that. Shame on them! :BangBang:

I live close to a central router and my DSL ultra speed is sweet. No way I'm going to risk losing it by violating my ISP's TOS. I know they do enforce it from reports at boards & newsgroups devoted to the ISP where they dumped people for running various kinds of servers (even a chatbot). If I'm going to transfer files to others I am going to continue doing it with standard net tools.
