Sasser is going to hit you as soon as you go online unless you have a firewall or up-to-date anti-virus installed first.
Problem is a lot of the stuff you need to get your protection up to date is online. First thing to do when working with a new xp install - get the microsoft update that covers sasser - then everything else. Oh and install your firewall and antivirus real quick. If you do get sasser before you update - remember to turn off system restore when the patch and anti-virus is running or you'll just keep making backups of the virus, time and time again. |
