Moonshine - How can u tell it's real?

Had a friend of mine tell me that he bought a quart of shine for $25 ..... I said how do u know it is really moonshine and not the cheapest bottle of clear alcohol available.

At $25 per quart...they could make a nice little profit if it was cheap rum bought by the gallon.

Anyone ever have any real moonshine? How can you tell it's the real deal and not any other clear alcohol?

moonshine is the hillbillys version of everclear. My dad goes to Tennesee every year for this annual biker party called "The Stag Run".. He would always bring a gallon back with him....

Never leave that shit laying around in a glass when kids are around..they may mistake it for water

My dad used to make wood grain alcohol when he lived in Arkansas... one time he was hallucinating and heard voices and saw people in the woods trying to get him... He shot out all the windows in the house trying to kill them...

I was born in deep south Kentucky, so I know all about moonshine. My grandfather used to make it down in Corbin, KY. It looks just like water, and burns the holy fuck out of you when you take a drink. You should be able to tell it's real if you just take a little sip, and it'll be unlike anything you've ever put in your mouth before. Nice buzz though

i took a swig on the 1st floor of my old apt. complex, i then walked up a flight of stairs and to my apt. i opened the door and i was wasted.

I have a little experience here.

There is one test you can do and that is a bead test. Shake the quart up and when the beads come to the top, if they are firm, crystal clear like then it came from a good batch.

As for those of you that haven't tried the flavored batches, well it cuts down on the bite a lot. Peaches is about the best to flavor shine. Oh and whorehound candy sticks are good to use too.

Be careful though they are some people out there that run shine through radiators, and that will kill you.
