HOW can I test for a memory leak?
ive been getting errors here and there about 'memory cant be read at 000x0978397532kjgdsjkhgas' type shit... i think i may have a memory leak... (ive got 1gig rdram)
im on winxp

maybe you can use windows system resource meter to monitor the memory usage when idle, and see if it creeps up ?

To test for memory leaks I usually stuff a cotton wool ball in each ear...

a memory leak is when an application doesn't free() memory it dynamically allocates, you can test a program for it by running it through a debugger like gdb, or whatever else there is for windows. it's not something that occurs because of your physical memory. if it is the hardware download a memory tester that can scan for bad bits.
