Spend money on a "good" domain name?

Do you think its worth paying extra for "good" adult domain domain names? What makes a domain name "good?" I'm curious to hear your thoughts on this.

I would never spend a lot of money with a domain... If problem is traffic, there are many ways to get free traffic, such as tgps, search engines, link trades,...
I think that there are lots of good domain names available, and u have other types of domains, like .tv, .net, .org, .com, ...

Spend the extra money on traffic, content, etc... A domain, with few exceptions, is only as good as the site.

Look at some of the big sites, thehun, dannisharddrive, al4a, and many others, they break all the "good" domain rules...So, for me a domain name is less important, unless you have a way to aquire sex.com, than building a good quality site. What defines Quality varies depending on what kind of site it is as well

If your redirecting, a domain is only as good as the name... and of course like wizzo said a site is only as good as the stuff in it...

But one should always take into consideration how easy it is to type.

I think unique/interesting domain names are important, but if you have a crappy site, it's also easier for the surfer to remember they DIDN'T like your site. It can go both ways.

There. I said it. My two cents have been thrown in. May I have my change, please?

Not worth it anymore. All the great ones are already taken.

I have one that gets descent search engine traffic because it has keywords in it.

Go to registrars.com to get names up to 64 or something characters long. Plus it's way easier to modify than internic. (network solutions.)

Pretty simple answer....

Domain names are important if they contain keywords that the search engines will recognize.

People click on links, they RARELY type shit in. Sure, guys coming on the web for the first time play around a bit, sex.com, porn.com, playboy.com, shit like that... but as soon as they discover search engines, it's bye-bye type-ins.

So.... don't buy a domain JUST based on the name, unless it's keyword searchable by the engines.

And FUCK paying big bucks for them! nudeamateurs-3948.com is just as good as nudamateurs.com, which is just as good as nude-amateurs-911.com or whatever... so fuck paying $10,000 for a domain name. Grab an untrademarked one you like, and stick a zip code on it. No one give a shit, except the search engines, and they don't care about the aestethics of your domain name.

Do the hyphenated names appear more often in the search engines? I mean, do the engines actually parse out domain names like META tags? I guess what I'm asking is if a surfer runs a search on "lesbians" would hot-lesbians.com show up before hotxxx.com, assuming the sites were exactly the same (i.e., same content and META tags)? If that's the case, it would seem to make the most sense to have a looooooong hyphenated domain name with all the keywords. Anyone know for sure how this works?

I think, that a good contents and exchange of traffic have much more value, than simply good host-name.
Behind exception sex.com and similar to it
This name is typed with each child
