I had the opportunity to sit down with Joe at Traffic Cash when he was still running it out of a hole in the wall office in a strip mall down in Ft. Lauderdale. He came off as a friendly guy with a lot of ambition. I sensed immediately though he'd end up getting wild with his money. You could see it in his eyes.
He was really down to earth though and he told me all the things he had gone through to get to where he was and it was fascinating to hear his story. Been to his New Years Parties and his house parties. The guy loves to party and be the center of attention. Always been a great host. Its hard when you have more money than you know what to do with for you guys that posted here why this shit happens. Many guys get into drugs and other fucked up stuff to try and find kicks to keep excitement in their life. Its also very loney at the top. A lot of guys I know with money, especially in this biz, literally have to buy their friendships with parties so they can escape the solitude that comes with wealth. |

I have never met Joee, but I heard he lived a pretty crazy life. I know he was partnered up with Traffic Cash Gold and there was some kind of falling out.

Joe was an addict who wasted his life. The man had charisma to spare, but at the end of the day was a grifter who suffered because he had people who supported him, patted him on the back just to get some business, drugs, pussy, or whatever. All these people saying good things about him - I wonder if any of his "friends" confronted him when he was throwing his life away. Doing coke like crazy, acting like a fool, continueing a path that led to where he is now. I am not sure I consider JoeE a friend, not a real one. I liked him, he was fun when he sober - he could talk with anyone. I confronted him many times both in private and on the boards. Ashame. |

Joe E is a friend-
He has a pure heart of gold and has helped many people out in this biz along the way. I recently visited with Joe in FLA and can tell you he isn't hurting. He is just as ambitious as he ever was and was very SOBER when I was there. Truth be told, it shocked me just how clear headed he was. It's no secret Joe has been through a lot- and stress can get to people when $$$ and relationships are ever severed. I think this rush to judgement and crucification of him is unjustified personally. The only thing he is guilty of is obviously posessing pot. Big deal. What happened to innocent until proven guilty? Could all be BS.. I have also had numerous friends that have had psycho chicks accuse of them rape- and in every case turned out to be complete BS. I support Joe, and wish him well. |

Wealthy people are very often the target of bullshit charges, especially when it comes to crimes of violence as they are precursors to lawsuits. Lemme tell ya, there is NOTHING better for a civil lawsuit than to have the state of Florida hand you a criminal conviction first. Talk about a slam dunk.
I posted this just a bit ago on that other board. In Florida, Aggravated Assault is a threat made with a weapon. Not a gun though as that would have been listed specifically as an enhancement (gun charges in florida carry mandatory sentences). Could have been anything like a pool cue or a bottle, etc. Usually amts to someone holding up a stick and saying something like he will knock them back into the next century. It is a felony but also know that in Florida cops arrest with charges that are reviewed by the asst state attorneys who have to make what is called a filing decision. The charges in fact could be elevated or reduced depending on what the prosecutor thinks of them. Right now, I am sure hired counsel by Joe E is attempting to get that pushed to a 1st MM charge of simple assault. The battery charge can be anything from some punching to a simple push. It was not a massive beatdown as then it would have been listed as an aggravated battery. Joe E is lucky thats not the charge because in Florida Ag Battery on a +65 yr old carries a mandatory three year stint in the pokey. My experience has been that money settles these cases quite nicely. An agreement made with the victims and suddenly the prosecutor is getting calls saying, "well now that I think of it, I wasnt really thinking he would hit me with that stick" and "well I pushed him as well and I think I would rather not testify". The Dealing in Stolen Property is a second degree felony which is classified as a max 15 yr felony. The Ag Assault is also a 2nd degree and the Battery charge is a 3rd degree Felony charge which is a 5 yr charge. The pot charge is a 1 yr max 1st degree Misdemeanor charge. For severity rank on potential sentence the most serious is the ag assault with the DSP charge next and then the battery and lastly the pot charge. In Florida, upon conviction for a felony, the sentence range is decided by a points system. Charges are assigned points, with additional points added for previous record and other factors such as victim injuries. Unless Joe E has a major record, these charges if they all hold up (unlikely but just for the sake of discussion say they do)score at the range for discretionary state prison with a sentence range of about 18 months. Thats assuming he has no prior record and the victim injury was slight. [Dave takes off his lawyer hat and now returns back to his regular programming of big boobies] |

The no bond thing is interesting. I would expect that to change here soon and for Joe E to be out. The judge at first appearance was probably concerned about the potential for ongoing violence. It is every judge's nightmare to release someone at first appearance and have them go out and kill the victim. Then its all over the papers that Judge XYZ released him. They are elected officials after all. Joe E's attorney can get a bond hearing and present a case for a bond. There are so many other options available besides being in jail and unless you are a serious flight risk or are looking at life in jail or execution, everyone is entitled to a bond.
