AVN: Can you tell me how you started making porn?
Pachard: It was a matter of survival. In 1967, another young artistic director said that he knew how to make an adult movie. In those days, they were softcore. They were called "nudie-cuties" or "sexploitation" films. I had saved some money so I said, "Okay, let's make one." We made Scare Their Pants Off. It was my first film as a director and a producer. We just stumbled through it the best we could and it wasn't much of a movie but I made a few hundred dollars more than I paid for it. It was a thrill to direct. I had to do it again.
