Holy fuck- anyone just watch The Passionate Eye on CBC Newsworld?
It was a documentary featuring rare war footage from the Gaze strip, Iraq, etc. I only caught the 2nd half, I'll have to watch it when they replay it. Amazing up close footage of helicopter attacks on civilians, and a US friendly fire incident in Iraq where planes bombed the shit out of a convoy. Blood on the Camera and everything, some parts hard to watch, like when a young girl who had been shot in the head woke up from her coma, to find out she was blind.
CBC Newsworld always has great shows like that, I highly recommend it to anyone looking for something different than corporate news. Not exactly the stuff they play on Global, CNN and Fox... it's a lot like the BBC. I think you can get it on some satellite providers in the US. |

My personal nod would have gone to "Israelis fire two rockets into crowd of civilians", with a very very close 2nd being the guy who was in liberia. Every one of em deserve every kudo they got, though... much respect to the journalists who still brave the gaza strip even after israeli snipers start deliberately taking them out. It's a shame that most of the people who need to see these things never will get the opportunity. |
