how many HDD can i add? Im running low!
I have 200gig and i was sure that would last me some time, here i am only 1yr later and its giving me warnings!
must be a combination of my extensive music collection, purchased content, website backups, and software. I have an HP 750n, can i add another 200gig? thanks.

you dont need 2 hard drives, just use norton to take a disk image of your current hard drive, go buy a nice 500 gig HD, load your disk image on to the new hard drive, and enjoy the other 300 gigs of space left

But i remember in the old days you were limited to how much space you can add, something about the pc not being able to handle all of it? has that come and gone and now you can add unlimited space?

usually just 2 per ide controller... you could sacrifice your CD/DVD drive, or you could look into external USB solutions.

Time to go RAID by the sounds.
My desktop PC is running 3 x 120's along with a DVD Burner and CD Burner. No problems at all.

Forget the external USB drives man... just pick yourself up a controller card and add more IDE ports to the PC. As stated by a few guys above, most motherboards have a limitation of two IDE ports which will let you run master/slave x 2 - so essentially you can have 4 IDE devices (cd-roms, hard drives, etc..).
But if you stop by your local Best Buy store, you can pick up an Ultra ATA 133 card, which will give you two more IDE ports to work with. I picked one up at the local Best Buy for about $29.00. Then you won't have to dish megabucks out for the huge 500gig drives -- you can go with two more 200's or even two 120's for the price they're at now. Good luck! |

I want one of the external ones or the swapable like they have at work. Oh, the collection I could have. Just pop it in and away you go. Done with it, pop it out and put in a diferrent one. Need more, just buy another. I could have racks and racks of them....
Sheesh, getting too excited here... |

Check out the Maxtor External Firewire Drives!
They ROCK! You can hook up plenty of drives via FireWire. These make for awesome backups... Copy all your important stuff, unplug it and put it on the shelf!
