Researchers in the Netherlands have discovered that men who drink 2 pints of beer daily raised their levels of high density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol by 7% after 10 days and 12% after 3 weeks.

HDL is good cholesterol and helps to cycle out the gunky LDL plaque forming cholesterol.

Good news for the beer industry.

its also good for the heart. there are doctors that actually recommend their heart patients drink 2-3 a day. it helps unblock arteries and gets rid of fluid build up

alcohol also inhibits the aggregation of blood platelets (>>clotting), thus decreasing the risk of heart infarcts in moderate use. But, considering this feature becomes interesting only for people over 50, it won't affect many of us.
