2 years ago I watched from my window a riot outside the parking lot of Level (a big club now called Mansion) where there was a shooting inside, and everyone poured out of the back entrances, 30 cop cars descended, and riot gas was sprayed all over the crowd. It was insane, but funny as hell too watch.

HEY!!! I'M FROM NEWARK TOO!!! But I survived the Newark riots of '67. I think it was the tanks rolling down the streets and the national guard too that helped. More people died in that riot than in Watts.

Property values in South Beach & local Miami areas are SOARING but this certainly puts a dent in things when people who don't know Miami is a great place, and see it on that weekend and think this is how it always is. It's not. For some reason Memorial and Labor Day weekends have become the Hip-Hop spot to party, unfortunately.

Not that Hip-Hoppers per say are bad (cough, cough) but a quarter million extra people within 10 blocks of ANY kinda people sucks big moose cock. Fuck, if there were 250,000 polo wearing conservative conventioneres here, that might suck even worse!!!! Hahahahahahahaha.
