It's been in the family almost 12 years now... We bought it right after it was built.. the owners went bankrupt just before it was completed, and we got it for a sweet deal. It was purchased for a LOT less than that, partly due to the fact the people who built it ran out of money and were desperate to recover their losses. And that's not really an unusual price up here with that much land.. In fact our house is worth quite a bit more beacuse it's nicer than most of the surrounding ones. Property value is on the rise here as more and more people are using this area as an alternative to the astronomically expensive Muskoka region. If you want to buy and have the property value increase more, I would suggest going closer to Haliburton. It's a nicer town and the values are higher.Originally posted by Joesho
