    Somebody is selling a 600HP Tri-Turbo V8 Supra on eBay. Include a "$20k+" audio/video setup. The hood shots look sweet and if it wasn?t for the mandrel bends, I?d say it was a bottleneck

                              the only reason he might get it is cause it's TRI-TURBO definately a one of a kind type deal, and its worked to shit v-8? i've never seen that before my boy has a supra he's got a bigger motor its a 3.2 liter but its a bored out 2jz it's not a v8 what in the crack

                                                  Thats a 40k car at best. I can't even imagine trying to tune a "tri turbo" which is something I have never heard of. I will have to run that by my tuner.

                                                  The odd thing is the Supra guys turn much bigger numbers than 600 HP with there dyno queens. I don't see any dyno charts supporting even that medium figure.

                                                                                                  Sometimes an automatic tranny is better for high horsepower cars because it doesnt get as beat up in the launch, not saying its as fun as a manual though. The triturbo is a stupid gimmick to me. Most supra tuners actually remove the twin turbo system and opt for one bigger turbo for efficency. My friends dad has a 600 horse power supra and it was one of the nicest tuned cars i have ever seen.

                                                                                                              see the problem is though when you switch our from twin turbo to single turbo your losing a lot of the low end power so your power band would only be between x (ie 4k rpm) and x ( 8k rpm) not saying that it's not faster that all depends on the size of the turbo but think of it as now that you have a single larger turbo it takes longer for it to spool so theres turbo lag with a twin turbo you have 0 lag because one turbo works the low rpm range and the other works the high range so theres no loss of power.. i've heard of guys shooting NOS directly into the turbo to spool up some of the bigger single turbos faster i dunno i wish i had one lol in time in time..

                                                                                                                                                      Unless you drag race your car 1/4 or 1/8 mile on a consistent basis I see NO reason to ever own an automatic in a sports car.                                                                                                                                                               I dont deny that 1 bit but that car uses a 4600 stall so you know it NEVER sees road courses. Sticks are fun but highly inconsistent. No ifs ands or butts about it.

With the proper clutch it can withstand a beating without heating up like an auto would and allows the driver to use his skill. You can not downshift properly going into turns with an automatic without beating the hell of it (dropping it into L1 or L2 etc.).
