the gold coast is about 1700klms from Cairns, so it would take you about 16+ hours to drive i would imagine, depends on stops. would be alot cheaper and quicker to get on one of the cheap aussie airlines and fly to cooloongatta airport on the gold coast.

Its alot quicker from sydney. You are looking at about an 8 hour drive... Its a nice drive though!!! I used ot live in Sydney and we used to Drive to the Gold Coast all the time for holidays.
