Saw them twice last year (once in London the other at Reading) and they fuckin rocked!
No other band has even compared to them live, both the band and the audience had so much energy.

I really hope I get the chance to see them again.

to each his own...I have seen Kiss but think Metallica puts on a better show...but the last Kiss concert I was at was a "farewell tour" so how do they count as a band who puts on a good show these days?? arnt they retired?

Retired :1orglaugh Gene is a money magnet. 50 pounds worth of costume 50+ years old and they jam for 3 hours! 4-5 nights a week. They have 23 consecutive Gold albums which only ranks behind the Stones and the Beatles. I say there show is by far and away better than Mettalica. Just my opinion

Metallica is just another MTV icon, like Cristina Aguilera and Britney Spears.

farewell means time to make another 50 million this year cause every show is sold out! 23 CONSECUTIVE, they have the most Gold Albums of any american band of all time. It's just a testament to who they are and how they have sustained time after time. Someone is going to the shows.

I saw the show a couple of weeks ago also and it was spectacular. Although I would have preferred it have been pre vocal lessons for James it was still a great show. Here they only had like one break for 5 minutes and the rest of the time they kept playing while they were drinking some water. They were much more intense before James went to rehab but it's nice to see that they can still play longer shows than some of the little wuss bands out now days. They went for over 3 hours and any performer.. (especially 40+ year old ones) that can do that is alright in my book. The intensity level at the show here was unreal also. People just kept rocking and it wasn't because they were drunk. They stopped serving beer after Godsmack and before Metallica.
