"FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - A circus clown known as ``Spanky'' has been arrested on federal child pornography charges.

Thomas Riccio of Jacksonville, Florida, was arrested last Friday by police in Fayetteville, North Carolina, and federal agents.

Authorities say he'd been working for the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus.

They say leads from a federal investigation in New Jersey linked Riccio to a company in Belarus that had credit card billings for more than 60 child porn Web sites around the world.

About a-hundred people have been arrested in the U-S based on the Belarus investigation. Another hundred were arrested in Denmark earlier this year.

Police say they found thousands of images on Riccio's computer, many involving young children participating in sex acts. "
