    why did u get started in the adult industry?

    Just curious as to why all of you guys are working in the adult industry... is it the lucrative opportunities? your sexual nature? or because you have no idea and this would be something cool to start? why are you guys in this industry and not lets say... the non-adult industry?

              I was about to graduate w/ a degree in art -- and my boss at the ISP I worked at was a total moron -- he got all his startup money from daddy -- and I had heard some people making big money on this porn stuff -- new cars and gold chains and shit -- I figured wtf do these guys know that I don't know -- the www is just html -- how hard could that be. I had already been running BBS's for years as a kid -- so I knew how to write simple programs -- I wrote a script in java which basically trolled the internet for pics and webmaster emails (I didn't know that hotlinking was bad ;) -- and then I sent emails to all the webmasters telling them that I had hotlinked all their pics and that I would also link their site if they linked to my pic engine -- hehe -- well needless to say I got a few legal threats and one of the webmasters contacted the ISP that I worked at -- not sure if my boss found out what I was doing, but the people in the office thought it was funny as hell. Anyway after a bit more trial and error I came upon a successful formula and I think I got lucky w/ one of the search engines -- then hooked up w/ Steve from pornqueens.net (think I got his attention w/ all that search engine traffic) and from there I was pretty hooked up. When I graduated from college, and about the same time my ISP was bought out -- quit my job -- I decided to go full time. For a while I was living on Checker's hamburgers because AdBucks in Canada was fucking me over w/ checks that were three months late -- and I tried a lot of ad programs that didn't convert my traffic... but I think the moment of truth was when I was on the phone w/ Tommy from tommys-bookmarks.com and he told me about all these TGP punks that were making tons of money w/ AP so I tried it and fell in love ;)

              -- There are a few people (some girls will think you're creepy hehe ;) uncomfortable w/ the idea of you running a porn site -- but most of my friends are pretty open minded and recognize the important role that porn plays in our society ;) Anyway all the money that I make w/ AP has allowed me to live a modestly comfortable life -- I have the time and resources to help out my friends when they it -- and I have enough time to work on my paintings. Another thing about AP that is cool is that you're promoting something that was done w/ some taste. I have a little more pride promoting AP than something like animalcash.com

                  I surfed into Ynot in '97 and used to read it daily; it was entertaining, sorta like a soap opera. That hooked me )

                  I worked at a Ford Dealership running the Body Shop, and spent most of my time working on sites from my office. Management thought it was really cool, and gave me alot of leeway.

                  If it wasn't for those two things coming together, I'd probobly still be "flippin burgers" hehehe...

                                      Hubby got hurt at work, so I knew he'de be siting on his ass for a while. Didn't want him driving me crazy.So we baught a pc. He was playing and looking for porn as I'm sure most guys do. He started wemastering and playing around a bit. I went to a webmaster chat room he hung around in one day and was just chatitng, showed a guy my pic and he made a comment wow you should show on the net you'de make a bunch of money. Well I had just quite my job so the little light went off in my head, and I checked it out, now I love it.
                                      I show on a busy site and it's great, meet lots of interesting people.
                                      We're also making enough money to pursue other endevers.

                                          Congrats, Lynn, on being able to make the transition into full-time adult webmastering. That's still a dream of mine, but for right now the daytime non-adult stuff pays my bills and the adult stuff occupies my free time and pays for a few luxuries, but not as many as I'd like.

                                          I'll get there one day, though. I'm quite certain of it. All I have to do is finish serving this 23-year sentence for Assault w/ a Deadly Amoeba and I'll be all set.

He was making 10 times what I was making and I was doing really well at the time. We became friends and he showed me what he was doing and how to do it.                                                                                       I got started buy makeing some avi's for a prouduct I was makeing to show how it worked then 1 day surfing round I e'mailed a porn site asking how it all worked well he mailed me back and we got talking and he didn't know how to make avi's so he showed me how to write some basic code and I showed him how to do avi's then I e,mailed AP and they told to go to porncity and learn got some books got lucky early on with some HUN postings and thought this is easy ha it took 6 months to make real money again.                                                                                           Here's how I got into the business. I was always in newsgroups collecting pics. My senior year in College my thesis was on Internet Censorship. So I did lots and lots of research on sites. I got intrigued and decided I wanted to run a website. This guy I knew online from MIRC told me about porncity. He was running a site. I signed up with porncity, placed all of my stolen pics up (100% Black celebrities) and didn't have any sponsors. I had almost any black celeb you could think of. In little to no time I was getting 10k in traffic a day. Then my mirc friend asked me if I wanted to go to jail for stolen pics. So I bought 2 cds and replaced all the pics. Traffic seemed to double. Then I found PCBBS. Mayor told me to try out his raw click program. So I signed up for it and another program Playwithme(Casino program) Mayor paid other guys ripped me off. I used some info from running my site in my thesis. When I graduated I kept the site running. I was making very little. Then this dude named TuffRuff asked me to signup under him. We were doing around 4 to 5000 clicks a day for lensman (I can't even count the signups). Life was good. And then I stopped doing porn to take care of my granny, and now I do porn part-time. But, i'm getting back into it.

                                                                                                                                                              my son (who's a grownup) and i had phonesex lines we were advertising. we decided to try promoting them on the internet, as well as in print.

                                                                                                                                                              we had no computer, i had never seen a bbs (although michael had), and we were spending $10 an hour searching for link trades at an internet cafe-sorta place; then paying someone to make our webpages.

                                                                                                                                                              our trades were successful enough for us to have to find better hosting - we were soon maxing out our non-adult host's lines... and soon we said "fuck the phonesex" and started making more money from our click sponsor, the dirty bird's nest.

The snow was incredible!!! there was so much snow that you couldn't NOT get first tracks SOMEWHERE! everyone who skiis or snowboards know that this past weekend was awesome!!! In california at least... anyways...

                                                                                                                                                                          we all have friends and aquaintences <sp?> we meet people and new faces almost every single day... I know i do. Usually people will ask you what you do for a living...and we all know that the "porn" aka adult industry is not a very well respectable job or business to be in.... do you guys just flat out tell people you're in this business or try to beat around the bush??? I know i've tried to cover my job by stating that I run an online advertising business... what about you?

When i sat there watching you make money, AND get to look at naked chicks, I thought, Hell, I could do that and make a few bucks on the side.                                                                                                                                                                                       I liked to look at porn, but I wasn't willing to pay for it...I've never undestood why people pay for porn on the Internet actually. The best stuff is free in the newsgroups and on IRC. Still, once in a while I would come across an Adult Check site that I really wanted to check out...so being the cheap bastard that I am...I made an Adult Check site on some free host (probably Tripod...I was a lamer newbie, okay?) and got a free Adult Check ID. I also made like $50 before it got deleted. I was hooked from there.
