High chargeback ratio = account terminated?

Has a sponsor program ever terminated your account because of a high chargeback ratio?

I will still keep sending them sales because it was gallery traffic. Redirecting those hits will result in me losing a couple of good partner passwords because I'm listed in the archives...

I was paid everything in full untill the day that my account was terminated..

I won't mention the program...

Depends on the amount of chargebacks. If it looks like your a fraudulent webmaster then hell yeah, I'd cancel your account too.

I haven't had that problem yet.. but its all about the money. No sponsor is going to keep you around if you are costing them money. Its as simple as that,

And did you have access to the chargeback details. Not the specifics, but like ccbill or epoch where they list what price and how many are charging back. I wish PPS signup sponsors listed that. Would be better to know if you were about to be terminated for it.

not if his chargebacks were higher than average..
at least the sponsor program paid the amount owed to date. I know a lot of programs that would have just told him to get fucked and not pay him anything.

How were you promoting the program?
I find if you focus more on the selling point of the site (content-wise) instead of just "free free free" you don't have as many issues with chargebacks. Also, make sure you weren't promising anything in your promotions that the site didn't have or have enough of.

Sometimes (and I'm not saying this was what happened in your case) a webmaster can commit "accidental fraud" where maybe they mistype something that appears to offer something the site doesn't have or maybe doesn't really understand the terminology and it can lead to confusion (I see this a lot in the promotion of bondage/fetish sites).

but to answer your question, yes, these days a high CB ratio will likely cause an account to be cancelled . . . they don't really have a choice

True, if you're account is too high they have to take measures and cancelling you is one of them.

I assume they did not give you a warning and try to work with you.

We have never terminated anyone for high chargebacks. The only webmasters we have ever terminated are the fraudulent ones.

I've been seeing a high number of chargebacks for a program I'm a large promoter of. The memberships are far from fradulent, and I can't figure out what's happening. As of this year, I've had 2 overall chargebacks out of thousands of signups at various programs. For this 1 program, I've had 6 chargebacks in the last 2 weeks. I'm beating myself up trying to figure out why, but I just can't figure it out.

From my experience one person might of signed up multiple times and then chargebacked them all, that would explain so many chargebacks in a short period. We have seen that happen.

I think the problem would be the sites you are promoting then - maybe you should join and see for yourself what their members are getting...
