You should care. This board is full of people you are doing biz with day in and day out.
You could very well spend a lot of time, or a lot of money dealing with a company who because of a stupid decision like letting a minor work for them before they turn 18 gets shut down.

Basically, you have to look at your local laws for pandering and distribution of adult materials.
Most websites are limited to adults over 18. Obviously this 17 year old would have to view the adult material in order to write descriptions. Therefore you would be exposing a minor to adult materials. Unless your country allows minors to view porn (some countries are 16), then you have to say no.
If you are trying to get into her pants by giving her a job, well, that is a different issue. Wait a year, otherwise you can go to jail (depending on age of consent).
