So we are building our Handsome Prophet Mainstream Webmaster Board. Normally we are hard advocates of in-house software but for reasons, I prefer not to disclose, we decided to use VBulletin for the board and AdCycle for our banner rotation. Both are pretty sweet boxed software. I just had to say that for me, I'm not used to learning someone else?s software. Unlike the familiarity of building it yourself from scratch. Just thought I would share because it?s just so foreign to me.

No not at all. For about $2000 you can get your first month of a dedicated server, VBulliten and pay extra for removing the VB logos, AdCycle and designer time. To build all this in-house would have costed about $7,000 in man hours.
