Video encoding question PLEASE!!!

I would like to know if there is a program that exists that can add a watermark to an mpeg file. Seems pretty simple yet in the 3years I have been ripping DVD's I haven?t found any yet.

Mpeg is the most versatile and popular video format in the world yet there is no program to add a watermark to the video... WHY?

I would be amazed to find such a program!

Whatever you use, you will need to re-encode the video.

Every editing program that I know of does it.
You just bring the mpeg into the program....
add a timeline with a watermark and encode.

Try Pinnacle.

I use a 3 step process to encode mpegs.

1) smart ripper.. rip the .vob files

2) dvd2avi.. extract the audio and the video from the .vob

3) TMPGEnc.. add the video and audio file and encode as mpeg.

It would absolutely suck to pay over 500$ to add a watermark.. I have Vegas Video 4 and its brutal to use for simple things.

I just need a simple program to add a watermark like virtualdub does for .avi files.

Pinnacle sucks for encoding and adding decent watermarks. Been there, tried that. The only way to make it decent is to add the watermark and spit out a full blown AVI then encode it with a decent encoding program. Cleaner eliminates this step and will take the raw video, overlay the watermark, and give you a decent encoding for a final product.

Yeah what he said.. eitherway the main drawback to adding a watermark is re-encoding the movies. Thats the main reason I have 2 computers.

Why do I even bother trying to reply to serious threads around here?
