So, did anyone travling at a speed of 200 km/h ever kill someone while doing it??

I think driving over 130 km/h is ... just stupid.

There's obviously a time and place for it... you don't drive through a school zone at 130... doh! But on a back alley road with no traffic for miles... or at a motorcycle or car track... its not hurting anyone else...

I think I have all of you beat! I had a geo metro up to about 110 mph back in college! (with a little help from gravity) I was coming down the side of a mountain...

150 in my Mercedes SL and about 155 driving a Ferrari 308GTS.

A friend who collects fast cars told me once you go over 160 your odds of going airborne, blowing a tire, blowing the engine, etc. go way up, so I've never gone past that.

You should have your radar gun calibrated. The factory Honda superbikes (CBR1000RR) were only hitting around 192 at Daytona this spring.

You have the same chances of anything at 150 as well.

Lets just hope the cops don't take this thread to seriously.

Damn Matt. You hit the 200 on that thing. That's pretty crazy.
I hit 145 on my old GSXR 750 coming back from Palm Springs from those good old days of Spring break no helmet no shirt.

Man to look back on those days, what was I thinking. I should of had a faster bike.

Yeah speedo only goes to 180mph, so I had to use the GPS to verify. She was still pulling, but I was done at 207. No helmet is great, wish they didnt have the law in Neveda, good thing Arizona is just a quick zip away.. ;)

There are so many cool stories in this thread but yet I dont want to reply to them all so as not to keep everyone thinking I am bumping this thread too much.
But Rochard, that is a crazy story. For me, I am a step 29, lost my license 3 times already and Im not proud to admit that. Its not cool or anything. One more ticket and I lose my license for four years because I would be considered a habitual offender in Massachusetts. I do control myself from now on I've smartened up and no longer do I do evil things to try and impress myself.

150MPH without a vehicle. You want adrenlin, then hop your skippy ass out of an airplane at 11,000+ feet and fly your body. Zero to Terminal velocity in 5 seconds.

Probably around 260-270 kmph on the back of my friend's Honda Fireblade on the gardiner at 2:00am in Toronto.

Pretty crazy, when the broken line divider turns into a unbroken line when you are going that fast.

155 mph compared to 250 kph? Sorry, not bashing the metric people, but your numbers are kinda - I can't say lame cuz I've gotten tunnel vision at lower speeds. The fastest I've ever been in a vehicle was 650mph (an airplane, LOL) but the fastest land based vehicle was around 130MPH. My '73 Cougar XR7 fucking screamed - 351 Cleveland tricked out big time. I got lots and lots of tickets with that beast before some dipshit totalled it while it was parked outside my home.

But seriously, I never got a rush from speed like I got from skydiving. WOW is all I can say.

I've personally seen an R1 make turn 14 at Brainard Int'l raceway and pop a wheelie for a quarter mile. I've also seen bikes 4 across on turn One on that racetrack pushing 178MPH. Seeing that and also learning that a good friend of mine lost his hip because of a bad turn on a chicane (sp?) turned me off on the prospect of racing.

And yeah, I doubt many BMW's can achieve 186MPH. An M3 probably if it's tricked out. A buddy of mine had one special ordered and it did scream, but I don't know if it was capable of 186MPH.

Hmmph. I'm one of the slowest. 125 in an 87 Cutlass Supreme. (Not with a 307, though... 409 (403+.030)).

165mph in a Jag on the LIE
130mph in my Chevelle on the LIE
135 mph in my Mustang all over the place
90 mph in a tractor trailer on the NJ Turnpike

100+ mph as a stoned out passenger in a souped up Ford van
150+ mph as a rider on an old Kawasaki

I was terrified in the van and on the bike

70 mph on the fwy

I am one of those slow drivers, I always go exactly 65mph and drive in the "slow" lane on the right...

Must be hard to control the car and keep it going straight at over 100 mph... I already feel unstable an "swervy" at 70mph....
