Any programmers here have solutions so we can get the search button working again?

Throw in a unique auth code generated randonly each time, that the user has to fill in correctly...

Limit the search to last XXX pages. 10-20 dunno.

create a daemon which serves the requests from memory. No php ... pure c, client server method ... can be a secondary server ..

thats how i handle 3987239847823498 request per second ...

I just thought of something.

Why not put one of those little numerical boxes where you have to type the numbers displayed like they do on a lot of the WHOIS searches now at registrars.

the downside of that method is, there still has to be some sort of database action to generate, store and retrieve the code. Less heavy than a search, thats A+

But the search is down not because of server recourses, it's down because of script bears.

I've heard those can be easy to bypass.. but who knows. I know I'm sick of having 50 bookmarked topics everyday so I can find them again.
