I just got my check from my frozen paypal acct

yep.. I got it back, all of it.. and it was a very sizable amount.

I was very stupid to keep that much in there, and lucky to get it back.

this is what I did, I e-mailed them several times.. then took a look at http://www.paypalsucks.com

the last e-mail I sent them I gave them the link to a thread that was started there by one of their former employees.

Then I said, tell me this isn't true?

They answered me immediately and said that my funds were on the way.

interesting huh?

All they would say was that I broke the terms of service rules.

I only used paypal for ebay and very few selective payments from people I knew.

I wish I did know what they were freezing my acct for, but they were very tight lipped on that.

I did however find out that they will freeze your account for having too many large transactions, even if they aren't adult. Also, if you have a link on your site to someone that breaks the rules, they'll freeze you for that.

They're scam artists, and their business is hurting.. so beware of keeping anything in your acct.

You dont have a clue why they cancelled your account? And your werent doing anything adult related? You were complying to their rules 100% So they basically felt like kicking you out for no reason? Employee checks your accout...hmm, lets kill it cuz i feel like it.

Sorry, i might be wrong, but i highly doubt this happened.

Its like parking your car where you arent allowed to park it. People ALWAYS bitch when they get a ticket for that.
Simple solution, dont park your car there.

Paypal arent scammers. Yes, they closed my account as well, yes i was doing adult transactions. They sent me a mail saying i broke their rules and sent the money to my bank account within a week.

I know youre pissed but think before you blame people and what YOU might have done wrong. They simply wont cancel your account for fun.

Battus, I already told you what happened, what's with the angry replies, I don't get it?

I told you what they told me.. which was nothing really but possible scenerios

You broke their rules, so yes they had every right to cancel your acct.

and I'm not as much pissed as I am relieved to get the money back.

The reason I posted this was to let others know that it IS possible to get your money back.

And as far as being scammers.. from what I hear from others is what forms that opinion

Maybe I did do something.. but for the life of me.. I don't know what it could be. I've used paypal for a long long time, and when they first sent me the new rules about not using it for adult transactions, I stopped doing it, immediately.

Btw.. did you get your money back?

Sorry, i was a bit too rude maybe. Im just fed up with people blaiming everybody else for their own mistakes. I dont know what happened in your case and if indeed you stopped using "adult" transactions then it is a bit strange indeed.

I just dont think they are a scamming company. Why would they scam and delete people for fun? Every transaction makes them money so there has to be a reason for their behaviour and its prolly to defend their own asses.

Boy do I ever!

You know reynold, I get pretty hot when someone rips me off.. but this time, after reading people's stories, I realised that I would be fighting a loosing battle. So I decided instead of getting mad I would do my best to benefit from the situation and keep my cool.

it paid off

See it this way, they have 100.000's of users, millions maybe? And what, 0.01% of them is bitching on a website? This is nothing different than any other company. Mastercard for instance, i bet there are even more people with horror stories about them. Would you call them a fraudulent company?

Every big company has clients who are not happy. Just because you see 100 of them on a website means shit.

so you think their policies are fair? Let me ask you this.. what gives them the right to keep your money for 180 days, or worse, not give it back to you at all? Master Card would never do that.

and you didn't answer my previous question.. did you get your money back?

I didnt answer it because i already mentioned in the other post 30 mins ago

I think Paypal has fair policies and im pretty sure that 99% of the cases where people dont get their money back there is more to the story than posted on some paypal sucks website.

180 days is a bit long, i agree. I got mine in a week.

oops.. yeah sorry, I missed that part.

believe me Battus, I want to believe they're on the up and up because I do so many transactions on ebay. In fact, I'm going to try to open another acct just for that. I love paypal, it's the best thing going for online transactions.

Of course, I won't be keeping any money in the acct.. as soon as I get it.. whoosh.. out it goes.. that only makes sense to me

The last few months i emptied my account all the time because i knew they were gonna close me down sooner or later. Ofcourse i didnt know they would send me the money within a week.

Actually they sent it to my bank right away, the same day they closed it. Just took a few days to arrive.

that's good to hear.. it gives me a little hope.. like I said, there may have been something I did that was against the rules. I made hundreds of transactions, who knows.. I just thought it would have been something they'd be willing to at least tell me. That's the part that worried me the most I guess.
