Due to the unfortunate firing of my wife, Jennifer ( JenAVN) yesterday and the circumstances involving it, I feel I can no longer go on supporting AVN's internet events at this time.
As many of you know, Jen had been with AVN for 9 years and while she is hardly credited for most of her accomplishments while working there- she was instrumental in their growth and it's development of AVN ONLINE.

I feel like there's been a death in my household to say the least.

I apologize to all the webmasters who were planning on coming to FLA just to attend the Player's Ball. I appreciate your support over the years and look very much forward to taking the Player's Ball's to new heights- and of course I still want to see as many webmasters at my parties as possible.

For those of you coming to San Diego June 10th for the Cybernet Expo Players Ball to see Eek-A-Mouse at Canes, we still look forward to seeing you party with us in full force.

This does not mean this is the end of the Players Balls. This is just a new beginning for the Players Ball. Look for the rebirth and annoucements in the near future.

For those that aren't aware of the history of the Players Ball, we've had a streak of 11 Players Ball's catering to Internext dating back to IA2000, never missing one show.

Jen has a lot of experience and always did an outstanding job leveraging avn for XPays. Her future is bright and we wish her the best in all her future endeavors!

The Players Ball is more about the webmasters who make the party special and less about the association with any particular tradeshow and I am sure that D$ will grow it out to its potential. Best of luck to both of you and I know this is a difficult time.

I pray Jen might even jump on the XThreadz ship and help it grow like she has done for others in the past. Competition for Jen's employment will be fierce I bit, given all her contacts she has made over the last decade.

I've had lot's of people tell me they came to the trade shows for the Ball, lot's showing up the last day when I threw the party.

I do appreciate all of the support and memories from those trade shows and parties. The webmasters always made the party what it was. It will continue and grow to new heights in more ways in conjunction with more events and or on it's own.

Part of me feels bad about all this, but the other part truly believes that eveything happens for a reason.

I think its about time the Players Ball steps up to a new level. Do some of the other adult conventions and get into other markets. There is so much potential for the Players Ball to be a powerhouse party both adult and mainstream events.

As for the gifted Jen, from the years I've been in this biz, everything tells me that you are AVN. When most people think of AVN and how it got to where its at, they think of you. I sure do.

you know what D-money - the players ball at internext was out of controll - it's wasn't about industry players anymore - the few days i spent in Vegas before the players ball tons of locals were talking about it and how they crashed it.

The smaller shows are where it's at - it's where the REAL players show up these days - and taking the players ball on the road and getting associated with the smaller shows that have a MUCH HIGHER PERCENTAGE of REAL players that attend will be a GOOD MOVE and one I'm behind 100%

We called for advertising the other day and was ready to spend some money on a 1-2 full page ad. But AVN could not accomodate our request....

It's definitely one of the directions I've been headed with doing the Cybernet Expo. We have a brand amongst webmasters and mainstream that needs to be explored further. I'm excited to see what the Ball will evolve into, I'll be putting more work into them then ever.

I personally enjoy the smaller Players Balls in smaller venues. It's more intimate for webmasters, easier to network and do business while partying.

My problem is I still want to do Snoop Dogg or 50 Cent for my big Ball next year, it's hard to raise that kind of money these days. However, I still promise I will find a way to make that happen again, in a small setting. Where there's a will, there's a way. No doubt I have the will. Maybe Andy can help make that happen. I've personally put a deal together once that was much larger, with Andy, he remembers that.

What's the difference between avnonline and avn.com? Are they one in the same? Different versions of the same thing? I've been reading all the HIV hoopla at avn.com but I wasn't sure what the similarities/differences are in the two.

We called for advertising the other day and was ready to spend some money on a 1-2 full page ad. But AVN could not accomodate our request.... One of my very first, and still best experiences at a trade show involved Humpty from Digital Underground, blackjack table and 6 in the morning. First time I met D-money and crew and the whole thing was off the hook. Just makes internext that much LESS desirable to go to now.
