Your money isn't FDIC insured or insured by any other method.

It'd be quite risky to leave $100k in an epassporte account to pay affiliates

Do they have an option like Paypal where uses the funds off of your cc or checking account?

There has to be some level of trust in any relationship, whether it's between ePassporte and its account holders, a company and their processor, or anything else.

If you have more than 100k in a bank account, the overage is not insured in the US.

If you have a merchant banking agreement, your money is more than likely not insured for any amount, even if it is millions of dollars.

If you are using an IPSP there is no insurance.

While you have a fairly valid question, I think you are missing the big picture.

it comes down to trust and your own personal risk management.

Most large account are privately insured by the bank. I have heard of privately insured accounts into the hundreds of millions of dollars.

Third party processors and payment companies like PayPal and epassporte are normally considered high risk and don't have the extensive requirements that state and federally chartered banks.

I haven't signed up for epassporte because I have signed up for too damn many online transfer systems. In the end, I prefer to get a wire, ACH deposit or a check. Epoch, CCBill, Jettis are all very small financial companies that are always two or three bad quarters away from bankrupcy.

The one, true solution in the future for adult online is to form our own bank.

ePassporte cards are issued by St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla National Bank Ltd., Basseterre, St. Kitts, West Indies.

So should something happen to ePassporte, it would take an extreme effort to recover the money. I wouldn't let this dissuade you, just understand the risk. Don't have more in your account than you can afford to lose. I never let my Paypal account get over a few hundred and I can't see us doing that with ePassporte.
