Seattle Party Thank Yous!!

Hey guys,

Everybody should know that i'm not the only one that worked on this party. Carol and daphna have put in well over a 100 hours in the last 3 months planning, organizing, etc this event.

Countless others helped set up and break down the party, including Tim, Chris, Allen, Michelle, Scott, Mike, Josh, Jeff, .... I'm sure I'm leaving people out ... sorry about that.

But this party wouldn't have happened - and certainly not with as much booze, women, etc... with out the following people

Porn Kings
Epic Cash
Soul Cash
Swift Co
HomeGrown
XXXPressToys
Speira
LunarCash
FTV Girls
MojoHost
Sin Text
Ibroadcast
FantasyModeling

If in the future - i throw a party - that is a DormBucks Party - I'll let everybody know... but all the parties that I have thrown to date have been a collaborative process - with a lot of help from carol and daphna from pornkings and thethrillhammer respectively.

All the posts that I have made up until now in regard to the seattle event - have highlighted the sponsor involvement - and I hope that you guys recognize that effort/involvement was distributed across all of us - evenly.

Thanks for coming, thanks for reading this ... have a good day.

PS - if anybody in Seattle - wants to drink tonight.

I'm Polishing off the Kegs - at my place from 430 - 630 pm

2 hours to kill 2 kegs?! Can do.

Brett,

I think the confusion has come up because the different webmasters have put up their party pics stating it was a Dorm Bucks party which it obviously wasn't.

Thanks Brett for clearing this up the confusion. Thanks to Carol well for being Carol and Daphna because she is the creme de la creme.

Everyone kicked ass and it was a blast. Thanks to all who helped and of course to the sponsors that made it all possible.

yup. but where did that confusion come from? Every post i've made to date - has included every sponsor's name - for the past couple months. My sig has all the sponsors. and the party page has a bunch of buttons represeting everybody who has contributed - time and money to the events. I never said this party was being thrown exclusively by dormangels/dormbucks.

Seattle - dare i say - has the strongest adult community. That's reflected as much - in our parties - as it is in our daily interactions/business relationships. I hope people realize what a team effort all of this is.

And the reason for the emotion/anger - in my posts - is that I don't think it's fair that I'm getting the recognition - that others deserve

anytime!

I should give out some more thanks to Carol, Brett, and Daphna...

the Northwest would be a lot more boring without all your work. Hopefully the new site http://www.nwwebmasters.com/ will be up and running soon so everyone can stay informed for all the new parties that you all will be working on.

Let me explain the confusion.

Well Brett this is probally why people are thinking it is a Dorm Bucks event...

You organized the first couple of parties and Dorm Bucks has been branded to it. ie. http://www.dormbucks.com/fallbbq/ and the party before it at our crib on May 17th.

Now you have done a great job in branding yourself and Dorm Bucks and have taken great efforts to rebrand the parties for the greater good.

The problem as I see it is the re-education of the webmasters that have succomb to your branding expertise.

When you think of the Player's Ball you think of D-Money. You think of webmaster parties in Seattle you think of Dorm Bucks.

Over time this will dissapate as the new organization and community at nwwebmasters.com will comne to rise and it will be recognized as full group effort from the entire organization and all will be well.

I think the confusion isnt because you guys spearheaded the seattle parties, and just like IA2000 Is now internext most people still call it IA.

It can be hard to rebrand....

What if you registered a new domain like SeattleSomething.com that would then be the new name and sponsors could be listed on that site? Simply having buttons on the dormbucks domain isnt going to help in the rebranding...

In anycase, I do want to thank EVERYONE who participated in putting the event together. Seattle has a great webmaster community and irregarless of whos banners are on the wall the true marketing and relationship building is done over cold drinks and good conversation.

Kegs of beer.... Hmmm if you had some Jack left I might make the drive

You were wondering why these are seen as dormbucks parties, here's my :
* Party page is on dormbucks site
* Sponsor signup and attendee RSVP to dormbucks
* Sponsor money is sent to dormbucks
* nwwebmasters.com created by dormbucks
* only posts announcing the parties by dormbucks
* Award at party given away by dormbucks

Nothing bad here, it's just the way things have evolved to this point. As Allen (sugarlips) said, these DID start out as small dormbucks gatherings so it's only natural that dormbucks is associated with the credit. As things move forward I would expect that some of the tasks would be delegated out to the various other northwest webmasters who want to help and that should help spread the credit around a bit
