Looking to get a new DVD player...
Thinking about this one
http://www.sonystyle.ca/commerce/ser...= 45940n32070 Anyone have any other suggestions to peep? We've currently got a Sony 5 disc but it's lived long past its years and it's time for an upgrade. Massive disc storage is a definite plus, on screen programming guide is another major plus.

Go denon if you have a decent audio system, dont sacrifice performance for storage...

The dvd format is moving towards extinction. "Blueray" dvd players will hold 27gb of data and they could appear on the market as early as 2005-2006. Because of that, I wouldnt invest $1400 in a dvd player at this time when there are plenty of $200-300 units out there that have good specs, dts/thx, dvi output, and all the other bells and whistles. Invest in the receiver/amp if you have to spend good dough as that technology is relatively stable and not so easily made obsolete.

I am looking for insight here.....
If I am sending digital audio, and digital video from my DVD to my receiver, will not the cheapest DVD player do the job just fine? All the money should go into the receiver, no? ![]()
