Addicts to cocke will tell you whatever you want to hear, they'll lie like motherfuckers and look serious at times (ie you can't tell its a lie) They'll keep doing it and doing it, their system gets used to it and they need it to go on with their regular life!

That is so true. I losed a friend over coke, he started using over the weekend and then it got worse and worse. He started lying about it, and when he started stealing my money I told him to get lost. I tried talking to him about it, but he just would not listen, just made things worse.

But there are a lot of people who only use on weekends and who can controle it, so I would just start to worry if he is starting to get 'junky tricks'

Talk to him and let him know you're concerned, but don't expect him to change just because you said something. He'll change (or not) when he's ready. Your words may help, or they may not. As a concerned friend you have a certain obligation to say something, but don't be a nag. He may just need someone to say they care, or he may not give a fuck. He's a grownup; he'll make his own choice.

Most cokeheads burn out on the stuff and clean up on their own. It might just be a brief phase. Best wishes.

Take him to a drug rehab program, if he leaves its his own problem :2 cents:

Danny K 05-18-2004 02:16 AM

is he an addict ?
how much coke does he use ?

there many levels of drugs use, but not all are considered addiction. some people only do a few lines at weekends,
others do 5-10 grams a day.

if he is only a casual social weekend user, then you shouldn't rat him out, he is not an addcit and you have nothing to worry about.

Only if he takes coke EVERY day, ALL day long, then he has a problem, and will need serious rehab.

when coke is fun, its fucking fun. It gets old and boring at different times for different people, and it may have to take its natural course with yo friend.

... i realized one morning that coke was some nowhere shit - it was ez to quit at that point. Call and ask for advice on what you should do ... al-anon i think its called.

for some people coke can be a very casual drug, for some a bad addiction - you might be worried about nothing, other than him scoring a bag cut with fiberglass

damn those first few times were fun!

Exactly, coke is one of those things your body lets you know that it just can't take. I was doing an 8 ball a day for a while but after a while, my body just started to shut down and things that should have been simple no longer were. He will see this. Waking up with bloody noses and having his eyes burning out of his skull @ 7 am when all the coke is gone will either make him or break him. Either way though...it's his choice.

he doesn't need a doctor

he needs an 8 ball!

Agree, once it's time to quit, it's a no-brainer. (Wish ciggies had the same half-life!)

You basically either quit or die...but yeah, coke sends to set up the warning flags much earlier than the "legal" addictions do...

Talk to your friend. Tell him that she's loosing his direction in my life. Tell him that your willing to help him achieve his goals in life.
