Hummer no longer the cool car - dealers can't get rid of them
Sales of the flagship Hummer H2 have fallen for eight consecutive months, and 24 percent in the first four months of the year, compared with the same periods a year earlier. G.M. has resorted to rebates and financing deals, which have become standard for every Detroit brand but Hummer. Inventories piled up as Hummers sat unsold 62 days on average in the first quarter, compared with 15 days a year earlier. And G.M. is now using leases, which are less lucrative than sales, to move a quarter of its volume of H2's, according to J. D. Power & Associates.

Maybe the price of gas has something to do with it?

when are you clowns going to figure out that the h2 and h1 are totaly different vehicles? The only thing they have in common is 4 tires and the hummer name.
Would you compare a corvette to cavalier because they both are chevrolets? well why not, you do it with the hummers dumb, stupid fucking retards

I would rather check the Toronto auto auction for a used H1 for the same price or less. The H2's remind me too much of a plain old Yukon.

HUmmers are Hummers, H1 and H2 are easily comparable as they are basically the same car, arguing over the differences is one thing but classifying them as separable as corvettes and cavailiers isnt the right comparison.

Different frames, different engines, different exteriors, different interiors, burn different fuel, different brakes, and have different designations 'H1' and 'H2'. Built in different assembly plants. And those of use that have owned both can tell you, the both ride and drive totaly different. How different does something have to be, for you to be convinced? And ok, comparing corvette to cavalier may have been extreme. Try it with camaro and corvette. Both are chevrolet sports cars, but yet they are very different. Same with the Hummers.

me and the rest of the world see HUmmer and thats all they are, for you enthusiasts who love Hummer sure the samantics of add ons and accesories i am sure is more than pacifying, but to the rest of us they are just Hummers. One can EASILY tell the difference between Covettes and Cavavliers, that was my point and an easy one to grasp I might add. Ask th world to tell the difference between cavaliers and corvettes, its possible. Do the same with H1 and H2 and most cannot. simple./

Let's face it, someone buys a Ferrari or a Bentley for its posing potential, but at least in one he could drive quickly and in the other get around in comfort.
A Hummer on the other hand says nothing but hey, I'm wealthy enough to buy an expensive vehicle and stupid enough to buy this box on wheels. Even if you take his choice as a genuine reflection of personal taste, you can only assume a Hummer driver fancies himself as Rambo. That's about as cool as going out dressed as Tony the Tiger. |

I have to agree with jayeff. Hummers are a status symbol, and not much more. If you actually wanted OFFROAD capability there are other vehicles that are a fraction of the price that can either match the hummers capabilities stock or are easily modified to do so. The H1 is an amazing vehicle for the military, but its turned into a grocery getter for 99% of owners.

H2's are just too damm big to operate in the city....
Jeep wrangler's are much more suited for off roading and rolling in the city and they are insanely cheap on gas. |

If your looking for off-road ability and fairly comfortable highway driving check out a Sonoma. I have a 2002 Sonoma and it amazes the hell out of me off-road. We have some tough tough trails out here and even making first tracks up a remote cutline on the side of a mountain with 3 feet deep puddles and knee deep snow it was fine (in 4x4 of course).
