No, won't have any effect.

Well it actually should be a tiny bit slower, because now the vB tags have to be parsed by php before printed as html, but you shouldn't notice that.

html has to many exploits in it if html is allowe din posts or sigs you can do alot i know a guy fucked with my board once and would make posts that exceeded the max number of characters he would make it like equal to 50 posts or more had to scroll long ways to bottom of his one post :9 guess as lens said he is tired of fighting it some people ruin things for everyone

A faster board that always loads would be nice but having the search feature enabled 24/7 would be better.
