I haven't seen that in years! I saw it when I was very little....

Do you know how many ass kickings that movie inspired?

Shit, I remember when it foirst came out on HBO, I think the level of violence went thru the roof for a solid month!

Now they actually warn you not to let your little retard kids see flicks like that LOL

You asked what makes this movies so great, everybody says it's the violence when it's not !

and i was hoping youd go a bit deeper ;)

saying "BF Skinner" and not mentioning anything else leaves too many questions, go a bit deeper?

When i first saw this film many years ago in London the thing that i remembered most was the car I think it was called a PROBE MK 5 made by the Marcus Brothers who made a range of Cars in London with Plywood chassis i seem to remember one was called a Marcus 1600 cool cars for their time. You can still see them in the UK , i believe they had plans to make more a few years back but don't know what happened.

Clockwork Orange and another film called Blow-Up with David Hemming's, used to be popular in the late sixty's early seventies London scene.

Strangely enough since I was only 21 when the film appeared, it didn't occur to me that CO was about youth. Nor have I noticed since the domination of which you speak: only that the world is very practised at allowing youth the illusion they matter. If you want a movie about youth fighting back, McDowell's first movie, "If", might do it better for you.

CO showed a world in which technology had left behind morality. Violence was rampant and a government anxious to clear its prisons (to make room for political prisoners) embarked on a course of brainwashing for violent criminals. Thus the central question of whether dehumanizing an individual is a more morally acceptable solution than killing him.

With great relevance to the present, the film asks what sacrifices we are willing to make in order to live in relative security. It also takes a poke at the public's willingness to praise a government one day and turn on it the next: both without any real reason.

I also believe that many people saw more sex and violence in the film than was really there. That's a testament to how well Kubrick made CO, but it is worth noting that the film was re-rated to "R" some years ago.

Great film for its time i think it was based on the life of David Bailey a great and controversial British Fashion photographer who now directs, last i knew of him he worked out of RSA ; Ridly Scott and Associates ( Ridly shot Alien and his brother Tony did Top Gun, and the very popular Man on Fire movie in theaters now, plus many more great films)

It is a real car called a M-505 Adams Brothers Probe 16 made by Dennis Adams in the late 60s. Only three were produced.

Dennis Adams, together with his brother Peter and Jem Marsh were responsible for the initial design of the classic lines if the Marcos Coupe way back in 1964. Though Dennis stayed with the factory working on various projects, on and off for many years, he also went on to design and produce a number of other cars.

Skinner got some success on making retarded kids behave. If you only look at whats best to do with murderers and all, but it's more profound then that. This was "The Fix" Gambling problem, no problem, you speed too much, no problem, wwe will fix you alright ...

Did you all know that if you slow the movie down to frame by frame during the scene where the couple gets beat down in their home, you can see erotic art images that you can not see at full speed?
