    Metallica/Godsmack

    Anyone else seen their concert this tour yet?

    I went last night. Had excellent seats and the show was spectacular. The great thing is the top seating was only like $75 and the cheapest like $55. Godsmack played for right at an hour and Metallica played for just under 3 hours. I couldn't believe it. I've never been to a concert where a performer did that long of a show. They didn't even take an intermission during the 3 hour performance. The only time they stopped was to grab a drink for less than 3 minutes twice during the show.

      Yeah, saw them here in Vancouver a month ago or so.... damn awesome show they put on

          bad ass..

          311 usually comes to new orleans on march 11th, 311 day, and they play for about 2-3 hours, it really makes ya feel like you got your moneys worth when bands perform like that

                              I saw metallica on their summer shit tour in vancouver (I forget the year... '94 or '96 or something?) and they sucked worse than every other band they had on as thier openers.

                              It was about that time that I realized what a bunch of washed up, masturbatory, pathetic pantywaist excuses of ex-metal icons they were. I hope Lars dies of eye cancer, that judas no-talent assclown.

                              Still, It could have been worse... because they sucked, I ended up chatting up a couple chicks (hoisted em so they could see over the crowd), and ended up banging one of em that night.

                                  when i saw them in 2000 in SF, lars kept getting up and dancing around his drums while he was playing. they did 3 songs, went off stage for 5 min, came back and did 1 song, off stage for another 5 min, did 2 more, off stage for 20 min. at this point im pissed because they didnt play enter sandman but after 15 of that 20 min i went to the parking lot and as im getting into my car, i hear it. fucking assholes

                                          Metallica put on a kick ass show. I saw them twice when they toured through Australia just this year. I even got to meet them. Something I never dreamed would happen.

                                              I think that their shows prior to this year were lacking in a lot of ways. However, since James went through rehab I think they're cleaning up their act considerably. Not only did they play for so damn long with no real breaks but I don't remember James cursing once during the show.

                                              From what my hubby says (he's seen them about 5 times now) that's not normal. He says generally James says fuck a whole lot during the show. Lars pretty much stayed put and did his role. He got out from his drum set occasionally to air out his balls over the mister.. LOL He never did any talking to the crowd though. A little boy that was about 4 or 5 crawled out of the center pit though toward the end of the show and sat on the edge of Lars' drum set while he was playing and was waving at all the guys in the band and making faces at Lars. It was probably his son.. but i'm not sure. I've seen a lot of their concerts on film although this is the first i've seen live but overall I was more impressed with their performance than any i've gone to.

                                              I spent almost $400 on Fleetwood Mac tickets last year and for less than half that I got a much better show for my money with Metallica

                                                      I saw Godsmack in Nov 2001 at the HOB here in Vegas...they rocked.

                                                      Last year I saw Metallica, Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, MUDVAYNE and DEFTONES in Chi town. Everyone blew me away except for shit ass LB who were heckled offstage.

                                                              I would NEVER pay to see Metallica. I think I paid $30 to see Godsmack a couple years ago, but I only went because they were touring with the Deftones, then the day before the show, Chino got sick. I saw someone mentioned 311, they always put on a kick ass show and play for a couple hours. I saw them at UCSB 2 years ago and they fucking rocked. Probably one of the best live bands I've ever seen, tons of energy. Met Pnut and Chad there too, great guys.

                                                                      Godsmack kicks ass in smaller venues, they had some of the best crowd response / interation I've seen the first I saw 'em...

                                                                      on the metallica tour, at least may 6 when I saw 'em, they were kinda ... weak on the big stage, didn't really fill up the potential.

                                                                      Metallica... priced themselves out of having a floor crowd, it was 99% stands in Calgary, so after about an hour it got kind of boring actually.
