I think that list is missing a few from Europe. Where's David Beckham?

Except his last three years with the bulls Jordan got about $5 million from playing and about $30, million from endorsements. He got around $30 million from the NBA and $35 million from endorsements his last 3 years with the bulls. When he played for Washington he played for the league minimum to help their salart cap ($1 million for a vet). I don't know what his endorsements were then.

A few other things:

I don't think that fag soccer player is supposed to be on this list

Some of you don't realize this is income in a calendar year, not total worth. MJ has about $400 million.

I think Michael Schumaker got shit on because they didn't consider race car drivers as atheletes.

Racing isn't big here unless its redneck racing, then only in parts, I live in Indianapolis, supposedly the world famous yada yada, no one gives a flying fuck. Although I think it has set a lot of attendance records.

The world's highest-salaried athlete pulls in $35 million a year from his racing contract with Ferrari....

I knew right away that a black guy cannot be the #1 paid athlete.

Maybe Jordan is not making so much money as them, but he created a very big figure in the sport world.

Samuel

Jordan is worth some $400 Million, Magic Johnson is worth over half a billion.

If we are counting retired players, these guys take the cake.
Also, can't forget Lebron James with his 90 something million dollar nike commercial...

newsdude 05-15-2004 12:08 AM

How can you even compare them when the value of money isn't the same as before?

pure energy 05-15-2004 01:29 AM

They are that rich?!

Firehorse 05-16-2004 06:52 AM

1 Tiger Woods Golf
Salary or winnings (including bonuses) $6,673,413
Endorsements and appearance fees $70,000,000
Total income $76,673,413

Some clever marketing as the figures above show! :thumbsup

Mpegmaster 05-16-2004 07:41 AM

what about Micheal Schumacher from Formula 1??

cosis 05-16-2004 08:05 AM

Lebron's salary is just amazing, his first year as an athlete and his is basically the highest earner in any sport that actually matters (not golf)
