Things may not look as great as they did 4 or even 6 months ago, but in my time at ARS I became convinced that it would be around for the long haul. Shit happens, people get laid off, restructuring sucks. Thats life, but Marc, Becky and JohnV are great leaders and even better innovators. Things will eventually stabilize and ARS will still be the most trusted program out there. Count on it.

It could be that paysite companies are starting to figure out that it only takes a very small amount of staff to run everything.

Looks to me like the new ARS stuff is much more simple, compact, and straight forward making life much easier and no need for a huge staff.

Under 5 staff can run the biggest of the programs these days.

I was 1:100 with those sites. Why would they do that to anyone who works hard to promote then pull the plug. Unprofessional... especially when you have tons of ppl backing you and in the biz for long time. :2 cents:

I'm sure some webmasters made some good money with them a few years back, I unfortunately got burned earlier from them..

like I said before some programs pick and choose who there going to give better payouts too and better ratios this is true I believe also i'm surehttp://adult.adrevservice.com " ARS" has several different programs it's just they sucked the webmasters dry running the infamous ARS program and sure there has been steady changes over the last year or so and alot more programs paying far less too..

I can't see a major problem seeing there's always new programs showing up but the biggest problem is the frauding thats been going on and getting worse over time. and far less honest programs around..

you don't get rich by playing fair in this game but you can still give webmaster that hung in there for years a break.. not just fuck them over? as we don't forget. and you won't be praised for it neither you don't deserve it same with the bullshit from http://maxcash.com like I said they also picked and choose who to payout best and who to shave and burn.. now there program is just another worthless front end.. so is there dead chat board.

ARS <title>ARS RI :: A Family of Affiliate Programs</title>

(A family out to rip you off! )

anything to do with sending traffic to these useless programs I won't ever sorry. there's no respect from them only a burn job.. :321GFY

I agree to an extent. I wouldn't want to try running 40 sites with just 5 people. If you outsource a bunch of stuff too, yes then maybe. But dealing with properly updating paysites to retain, purchasing content and managing upsells, tech issues and serverside stuff, interfacing with webmasters, marketing, monitoring numbers, dealing with the billing... all these are full time jobs unto themselves if you want to do it right.

I think what you do see happening now is that, as this industry matures, businesses that have been around realize they can't just hire all their buddies or guys/gals who are fun to drink with at a tradeshow if they want to continue to compete. You need people who actually are qualified to do the job they are assigned.

For years this business has been the haven for the slacker dudes - you know the people who always forgot to bring the #2 pencil to the tests. =] It's just not that easy any more. You need people who will work hard AND smart.

bdeforest 05-14-2004 03:07 PM

Jive you're an idiot. You got caught cheating us and you were terminated, plain and simple. Seems you just can't get over it. If I had to guess, we weren't the only ones who gave you the boot either.

I saw this and so did most of the webmasters that ran away from cheating program I remember seeing all the webmasters crying on your chat board after you were constantly burning them!

I was just quick to catch what you were trying to do to me and got away with it from other webmasters but not me..

so you'll always be bad in most peoples books.. ands remembered as frauds. :321GFY :ak47:

Your right on that one. Almost every sponsor has termed him for his child porn domains and not to mention a C&D or two has been sent to him.

Same... they could have introduced new sites and kept the old ones. I have no idea where my traffic is even going now... but it isn't bringing in sales.

marko13 05-14-2004 04:29 PM

maybe it's your bad prediction...

Jon 05-14-2004 04:36 PM

I just think they put too many eggs into their mainstream operation basket. They did a fantastic job at being an adult program, that they wanted to go mainstream. It reminds me of the mafia, in the movie the Godfather. They are spectacular at doing one thing, organized crime, but no matter how much they wished to be "legitimate" or how much they invested into it, they could never be, because you should stick with what you are great at, and stop trying to jump into new domains. That was ARS' biggest problem I think. They wanted to be the next Commission Junction, thought they had the resources and cashflow to keep it afloat, and didn't realize, sure, it's just one big affiliate management program, but the mainstream world is A LOT different from the adult one. I think if they start focusing more on adult, the industry that made them what they are, then they will be fine. The only ship that looks like it's sinking is the mainstream one.

:2 cents:

Jon,

ICQ me sometime if you feel like it.

Also, thanks for the shout out.....

xxxjay 05-14-2004 05:54 PM

Whoa - damn.

You know the only reason I even started this thread is because I was approached by two (won't name any names) people ARS just laid off for jobs in the same day. I thought maybe there was something to that.

They ended their relationship with GIM who actually owned the old sites. Once their contract ended, GIM took back the sites and ARS had to develop their own sites for their webmasters to promote. Things have obviously changed dramatically there, but I'm still promoting HSN as strong as ever and happy with the conversions. The support, timely payouts and great stats make this still a very professional, stable sponsor.

Yep, best converting cam tours, and i've worked with all of them. People freaked when you went to the $1 from the free cc signup, but I've seen no drop off in conversions.

I really doubt ARS could possibly have any problems whatsoever. You have any idea how many rebills they must have in their billing inventory?

I'm sure its in the top 5 in our industry.

well hahahahahaha cutter sites don't usually rebill well. they have improved their sites, but i havent been in their members area for like a year.

even if they have good rebills and a sound money making strategy, they may have poor money management which could cause them to go down the shitter.

54 downloadable movie sites in ARS Champs in less then a month.

Let me guess, 100+ by the end of May.
