I rear all my own meat and collect my eggs from the fields fresh every morning, you can't beat truly well reared organic produce - that pre-packed supermarket shit doesn't even taste real :(

Peaches 05-14-2004 04:27 PM

I used to buy Omaha steaks like a crack addict buys crack, but found that if you can find a GOOD local butcher, you'll get just as good if not better meat for a lot less $$$.

There's a sign on the way to the Outer Banks for a butcher "Nobody beats our meat!". I still LOL! :winkwink:

Just because you think a steak has to be $100.00 doesn't mean
your a connoisseur of beef. I'm surprised someone who can't spell
"steak" can have a $100.00 in the first place.

Fuck off nOOB.

Well I use to deliver newspapers, that doesn't make me a journalist.

So you never developed an educated pallet. Live with it.

not to mention tbone and ny strip are the same thing with the only difference being the bone.

I'm gonna have to go ahead and agree. I work in a meat department currently and Rib Eye has the best marbling out of all teh cuts we get. (More marbline = more flavor). Also, I've never ever seen a Sirloin with bacon wrapped around it. We do sell smaller tenderloin steaks wrapped in bacon though. Currently, our choice Rib Eyes are going for 7.50 a pound, and the prime angus is 10.99 a pound... deffinitely cheaper then that Lone Star site I just looked at. Then again I'm in PA... I heard in NYC choice cuts are going for something like $15 a pound... fuckin ridiculous

Jon 05-14-2004 07:38 PM

Camel Cigarettes, Root Beer, and American Steaks (cornfed) and the Internet. That's all I need.

I like my steak rare, nearly moving, deep reddish/purple.. Everyone thinks I'm nuts, anyone else like it this way too?

LOL

Go to Peter Luger in Williamsburgh in Brooklyn, and prepare to eat the greatest tasting meal of your life, but at the same time, get ready to drop over $100 for the steak alone.

We actually carry Peter Luger steak sauce... personally, I don't like it much at all.

Burgers, prime rib, filet mignon, sirloin... how could anyone possibly be a vegetarian?!

watch your mouth.

grilling is a year round thing! It could be -10 degrees out here in Wisconsin and I'd still grill steaks!! :thumbsup

I'm sorry, but anyone who pays US$100 for a steak is a fucking idiot.

Or maybe they're just not fortunate enough to live in Australia.

We have two fools who "worked meat" and have never seen
sirloin filets wrapped in bacon. One of the idiots claims he
paid $100.00 for a steak and both of them say sirloin cut has
flavor like a new york or tenderloin cut.

We have bullshit, bullshit, and more bullshit.

The reason the two of them never saw bacon wrapped sirloin
is the soup line doesn't serve cuts of meat and as for paying
$100.00 for a steak...well if bullshit was high heals this idiot's
nose would be bleeding.

It must be tough in life to walk around flapping your yap and
have no idea your an idiot but the rest of the world does.

I feel for their parents, really I do.

JamesK 05-15-2004 09:01 AM

I <3 meat.

X37375787 05-15-2004 10:13 AM

Two weeks ago I went to a place called Mongomery Inn, right by the river in Cincinnati... let me tell you, those ribs were the best ones ever made. Their BBQ sauce is famous, too -- you can get it at most grocery stores in Ohio.

BV 05-15-2004 10:23 AM

tender and tastes good = aged and grain fed

you usually can't get well aged beef in a grocery store, go see the butcher

dennisthemenace 05-15-2004 10:59 AM

Omaha's bacon wrapped filets are yummy..

Not a huge fan of the rest of their stuff..

infectd 05-15-2004 12:33 PM

Right on, BBQ 4 life
