no it usally goes pr 1 then jumps to a 4 most of the time

PR doesnt neccesarily mean you get more traffic or a higher listing in searches.

What i have found it to do is..

The higher your PR rank the more often google spiders and indexes your pages.

So IF you know how to use this to your advantage, it can mean more traffic
