making galleries

okay i have never designed anything in my life before, but i am going to actually try and pick up some design skills and make some damn galleries.. my question is how do people make galleries? do you start in photoshop and make it one big image, then cut it up? or do you make the tables in html and then add images? any tips anyone can give me? thanks

The logo/graphics are made in photoshop. The actual gallery though is made in an html editor (like dreamweaver). It is there that you create the page, deciding where the images will be located etc.

What you could try is to view the source of a gallery, copy that into your editor and it will show you the basic html of a gallery page. From there you can create your own images and substitute them for original graphics of the gallery. Try to move around the pics in dreamweaver, try deleting some, adding some, play around with it.

There are many help resources on the Internet where you can learn basic html skills. Just start playing around..that is how you will learn.
