Our enemies

Let's list our biggest enemies
I'll start:

- (Illegal) Spam
- Spyware (of any kind)
- P2P (without DRM)
- Mousetraps (neverending popups)

Do you think there is anything else that hurts our industry more than any of these?

For example the free content on TGP's is the least of our problems. So i will not agree with you if you mention that.

what makes you so sure Fletch?

- spam can end just by changing the whole email protocol on the internet.

- spyware, if everyone acted on it like the-hun did, we would put a hurt on them

- p2p networks wouldnt be fed with this much content if everyone starts using DRM, or the DRM technology advances and becomes more popular

- mousetraps, popup blockers that actually work or the next version of IE that blocks popups will solve the problem

I am not saying I can give you the right solutions to each problem, but we sure can do a lot better by working our minds collectively and identifying things that take money from our pockets.

The main problem is the pessimistic thinking that you have just presented. Acceptance of defeat by those who perform unethical business.

Prechecked crosssales are going to be the next big problem that will make surfers scared in the future to sign up b/c they might be billed $80-100 a month.

the chargeback limit is helping to reduce the aggressiveness in crosssales already

They're bad for our image, but how much money are they stealing from our pockets? How many people want to buy porn but they're too afraid there might be cp in it?

Our biggest enemies are free sites showing hardcore content.

If free sites only showed softcore sales would skyrocket beyond believe.

But like the other things Fletch commented on sites only showing softcore will never happen because there will always be one bastard showing it and with it taking all the traffic.
