techie question
I bought a external hd , which the computer sees it , holds files fine but when its on the computer acts very sluggesh.
I have a 500 watt power supply my firewire /usb2 pci card is powered directly to the power supply and the os is xp. |

A bigger powersupply doesn't make your drives go faster. How is the external drive connected; USB or FireWire ? You might also want to check out the Event Log to see if you are getting any read/hardware errors on the external drive when you are trying to access it.
