lived in SF for about 20 years.
russian hill is probably the most romantic part of the city and might be one of the most beautiful spots in the world. it is so fantastic you have to pinch yourself to know you aren't living in a dream.
at night, you can open the hahahahahahas and hear the fog horns, and smell the ocean, and think about all the ships coming into the bay from all over the world. you turn one way and see coit tower, turn the other way and see the golden gate bridge.
a few blocks away you are in chinatown---a completely different culture, and some of the best restaurants in the world.
this is the place tony bennett sings about.
there is no better spot in all the world.

yeah the city is fucking amazing. im moving there from the east bay on june 1st, the apartment im moving to isnt quite that nice, but has some nice views. top story also, ill post pics at some point

can't find a good burrito to save my life
no chinese food compares to the house of nan king on kearny
and i miss the burgers and fish n chips at reds java house

Funny about the Mexican food though. My daughter was in NYC last weekend and said she ran across someplace in the village (I think) that boasted about "authentic San Franciscan Mexican food." She could not ever remember even seeing a Mexican restaurant in The City (I can only remember eating at one on Geary)
She works with several Mexicans and asked them about SF and Mexican food, and they all said it was the best Mexican food in all of California! I guess I have been oblivious to it for 50 years.
So, someone please, what are some good Mexican food places in SF as my son and I are planning on a road trip up there soon in search of food.Comment
