$3.00 a gallon for fucking GAS???

Just heard the stock analyst say that by July we'll be paying $3.00 for regular gas???

WTF???

Now the Saudis asked for OPEC to raise prices? Who's fucking side are they on?

This sounds like some Bin Laden shit. He knows raising prices will fuck this country up to the point of bankruptcy. And knowing that most of our creditors are European banks, we'd end up going belly up, the Euro banks will eat us alive.

Look, it's quite simple, your dollar is loosing value, they have to increase the price of petrolum to make up for their lost billions in revenues, it's that simple.

If they every switch to EURO prices for petrolum, you will cry alot more

The Saudis asked OPEC to raise PRODUCTION, not prices, and in most places in the United States, 40% of the price per gallon for gasoline is TAX.

http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=stor...il_6&printer=1

Hiking production = more oil/demand = lower prices

Christ almighty, some of you are stupid as fuck.

This may be true but it will still take all summer before the price drops significantly. They shoot up fast as hell and continue to climb prior to this meeting yet will take forever to come back down. Gotta love it.

Crybabies. I'm paying $5.50/gallon... and I travel around 80 miles/day.

I think the cheapest place in the country is about $5.10/gallon.

Anything less than $5/gallon is cheap as fuck.

Everytime there is one of these gas threads there is always someone comparing it to UK prices and/or the price of milk etc. etc.

I personaly don't give a fuck that our prices are still cheap compared to where you live. The bottom line is we are comparing prices in this country. The % jump in the US the past 6 months has been very significant.

Want me to take a picture of the gas signs saying:

87 Grade Gas - 2.49
89 Grade Gas - 2.59
92 Grade Gas - 2.69

3 isnt that far off, and here in California its been well over 2.59 for 6 months.

I am not suprised anyone said this, because I MYSELF have predicted we will be right at 3 just before elections, then it will drop.

I don't understand why the gov't doesn't release some of the gas reserves that we have to drive the prices back down. I mean! We have millions of gallons in reserve so WHY NOT USE IT! Dang!

Regular Unleaded Average = $2.30 9/10ths per gal.

Supposedly highest price in oregon..

Supposedly 3rd highest prices in the US, California, and Hawaii I think are the highest...

Bullshit...

I talked to a oil guy in the SF airport, he said its only gonna go higher for the summer travel season..

A station by our house raises their price depending on the time of day..

Morning = $2.18 per gal.
Evening = $2.38 per gal.

Is that bullshit or what.. Total price gouging.. I thought that was illegal????

I can understand 1-2 cents different time of day.. But that could cost you an extra $2 - $4 per fillup depending on your gas tank size...

I wonder if this will make you guys in the US start appreciating european and other import cars with smaller engines and lower fuel consumption.. I know you pay higher taxes when buying a foreign car, customs blahblah, but if you drive alot - it must pay off (compare a 1.8L engine to a 3,4,5 or a 6 litre one)

Because the amount of oil that exists on this planet is only decreasing. Shell just announced a few weeks ago that they overestimated (or lied about) how much oil they had in their reserves.

It's not an unlimited resource, and we are going to run out of it.

you do realize most our economy is pretty much based around fuel prices?

and if it tanks our economy more, it'll have a ripple effect on yours...

also, what would you do if your prices went up by such a high % in such a short time? You'd be crying like a little girl with a skinned knee...

nevermind, you're a canadian, explaining everything to you would just be the same as beating my head against a wall 50 times...I would just end up with a headache and still be annoyed...

The Bush Family and friends make more when the prices are high. Didn't this happen the last time a Bush was in the White House?

OPEC never have and will like us.

I won't be surprised if I feel a flashback from the gas shortage back in the 70's.

few peple even realuize this concept.

they think oil is everywhere, when in fact Exxon and Shell have been saying the increase will come around 2004 for awhile now because where the oil is coing from more remote regions and extreme tempertures thus driving up costs.

oil is indeed limited, in fact it runs on a curve.

the curve is speeding up because HUmmers and gas guzzling SUVs are so popular the last 5 years.

We are using way more fuel now then ever.
