Avoid Teleteria And Jay Servidio Or You Will Be Defrauded

Jay Servidio, president of Teleteria Inc. of New York City, defrauded me out of $5,230.69 in the sale and operation of an adult Web site.

I purchased the site in late 2001. Payment included the site itself, alng with Web hosting and video streaming that I was required to buy from Teleteria, in a turnkey operation. Mr. Servidio promised in Learning Annex classes in New York City, by telephone, and in a New York Press news story that the site would make $70,000 a year in profits if I "marketed" the site; that is, listed it with various search engines.

Following Mr. Servidio's directions to the letter, I listed the site with more than 30 search engines. A trial three-day membership was priced at $3.95 and a one-month membership at $24.95. In three months' operation, revenues were $7.90. That's right--$7.90! This total represented two $3.95 trial memberships, including one purchased by me to check out the system. The recurring costs for Web hosting and video streaming, which had to be purchased from Teleteria, totaled $1,050 every three months. Upon further investigation, I learned that the design of the Web site was of very poor quality and that there are nearly 1.6 million adult Internet sites, according to research by software firm Websense, many of them free. Teleteria's turnkey sites cannot possibly make a profit, a fact Mr. Servidi must have been aware of since he touts himself as an expert in the industry. Therefore, his intent was to defraud.

He also stated that if the site failed, "You can always sell it." This statement is a lie. I was unsuccessful in attempting t sell the site. Potential adult Web site purchasers are aware of the business realities outlined above. They have no incentive to buy a worthless site. I demanded a refund from Mr. Servidio by e-mail, telephone, and certified U.S. mail. He has refused. As a dyed-in-the-wool con artist, he requested EVEN MORE MONEY to remedy the situation. I have filed formal complaints with federal, state and local authorities am suing Teleteria in New York State Small Claims Court.

If all of us he has defrauded work together, we can put Jay Servidio in jail for fraud, where he belongs. In the meantime, warn everyone to avoid Teleteria and Jay Servidio at all costs or you will be cheated as I was.

Can you show us the site? I'm really eager to see that poor design you've mentioned.

I could be wrong but I don't think selling a crappy website is a crime. These turnkey operations are bullshit but I don't see how it's illegal... it is possible to make money with them in theory.

As to whether Jay Servidio and Teleteria are committing fraud, it is helpful to check the New York State Penal Law, Section 190.60 (1), which states, in part, "A person is guilty of a scheme to defraud when he engages in a scheme constituting a systematic ongoing course of conduct with intent to defraud more than one person or to obtain property from more than one person by false or fraudulent pretenses, representations, or promises, and so obtains property from one or more or more of such persons." Since money is property, it sounds like Teleteria qualifies.

The Web site in question was "TouchMyAss.com." It still exists but it has a somewhat different appearance. It appears to be disabled. May Jay Servidio hasn't found another sucker like me to buy it.

It's your own fault if you are dumb and naive

It's not like anybody would be giving away websites which make good money for 5000$ or that you don't have to do anything after you bought an existing website (which would cost you a "bit" more than 5000$ and maybe you see one person per year who do this for personal reasons, but generally common sense should tell you that nobody is normally giving away real money makers).

What he says was right if you market the site right, you couldn't market that site so you didn't make any money. The site looks like crap but there are even people who make money with crap sites.

It's your own fault if you don't have a clue about the business and buy stuff that isn't worth the money,so don't bitch around and deal with it!

A fool and their money is easily parted. Theres no easy path to money. And anyone that believed they would make 70k a year by submitting one site to some search engines, should be doing more studying and learning before handing out a bunch of money.

I have to say I agree, you got into something you didn't understand. Doesn't necessarily mean he was intentionally defrauding you. If you wanted to make the site succeed, you should have had a professional redesign the site, bought the content you need, networked with people like us, etc etc.

When you fall on your ass, you don't just sit there and say "oh you bastards, I'm going to sue you." You get up, and keep on moving. I've had tons of times in this industry where I could have blamed someone else for my failures, but in the end you have to chalk it up to a learning experience and move on.

Teleteria? I think I seen them on that "Unscrewed" show on TechTV. He was pushing the exact turnkey program you are talking about here.

I doubt you'll get your money back.

http://www.teleteria.net/

Not only are you getting ripped off on the turnkey product, they also rip you on the hosting. $2 a gig.

Haha. Plus $3.50 a gig for overages, and you only get 50 gigs transfer.

Nobody forces you to use their hosing or anything else.If you think it's too expensive or not worth the money go somewhere else but claiming that their stuff is a fraud if you get what you pay for is just dumb.
