Why do Canadians brag about health Care being free when I have heard from folks on this board say the free helth care sucks ass, like it does here in the US and if you have money you still get better medical, like it is here.

My girl just off the phone and her granmother is back in the hospital been in and out since before Easter, teminally ill with cancer and its costing her fasmily 3 grand a day to be there, and more than 20k for other expenses in the last couple of weeks.
I hear you, and it shard to sit back and watch things go down the wa they do, i just hate seeing people brag about free shit when my girls family is sitting here breaking down over watching their grandmosther die, while illegal immigrants get free hospitalization here and its citizens die slow.

Heh. Canada owes their security to America. All Canadians must praise their neighbors to the north. Not. Canada is a pretty laid back country. They don't usually go looking for trouble like the US does, their military doesn't get involved in things unless it's UN business for the most part. Canada's military is small, but what's the point of having a large army if you're not at war? Canada doesn't have many enemies, and those that may be enemies don't have the resources to launch an invasion. So what's the point of massing an army? Canada's healthcare and education systems are both failing due to poor choices and mismanagment of funds in other departments. While America is busy fucking other countries, Canada's government is busy fucking it's own people on both a federal and provincal scale in most locations. People are dying on waiting lists or in emergency rooms waiting 24 hours to see a doctor with life threatening illnesses, because all the doctors and nurses have moved to the US and other countries where they can make a far superior living to what they would working in Canada.
People should spend less time worrying about what other people think about them and their country and more time worrying about what kind of mess is being made in their own backyard.
Every passing day the idea of moving to Alaska or the Yukon and living in the wilderness away from the "civilized" world becomes more and more appealing.Comment

Canadians being in the WTC when it got attacked doesn't mean that Canada has enemies. There were chinese, french and others in there. Believe it or not, you put 10k people into a couple buildings, you get a variety of nationalities.
Face it, Canada has good relations. We don't put bases in other people's back yards and tell them how we want them to run their country.

In all honesty I really don`t want to piss in your cornflakes but having once lived in the United States and having experienced their version of free health care. And even so, I will honestly admit that in the United States some hospitals are signifcantly better than others
With this in mind allow me to say that I will be the first to acknowledge that our system isn`t perfect. But overall comparison between our two systems is like comparing apples to bricks. Very very different.
When it is bad there it is very bad. And I`m not necessarily referring to the quality of the medical care. But the fact that in some wards you have to sleep with one eye open because it`s about as safe as a down town LA at night.
